Denver Public Library

The Denver Public Library needed a safe, sustainable energy solution suitable for a public, occupied space. Erie County Wastewater Pumping

Erie County needed a more reliable and sustainable backup power solution for critical wastewater pumping infrastructure that had long depended on costly, high-maintenance diesel generators. By deploying a 150 kWh fail-safe Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), the county replaced traditional generators with a clean, resilient alternative. The system now delivers 32–90 hours of backup power while eliminating fuel dependency and significantly reducing maintenance costs and emissions.

Eight Faveo systems were installed at the town’s busiest intersections to ensure continuous traffic signal operation during power outages. What is Zero-Export?

The zero-export feature is a method of renewable energy optimization designed to maximize the use of on-site power generation, such as rooftop solar.

  • How it works: Rather than sending (exporting) excess energy back to the electrical grid, the system “banks” this surplus solar generation in the battery storage system.
  • The Benefit: This stored energy is reserved and used later when the solar panels are not producing power (e.g., at night or during cloudy weather). This process allows a facility to maximize its self-consumption of renewable energy, ensuring that the power generated on-site is used on-site.

What is Peak-Shaving?

Peak-shaving is a financial optimization strategy managed by the EMS to reduce electricity costs.

  • How it works: The system operates as an intelligent “Behind-The-Meter” asset. Utilizing predictive load usage analysis and advanced learning algorithms, the EMS anticipates periods of high energy demand.
  • The Benefit: By discharging stored battery power during these high-demand windows, the system “shaves” the peak off the facility’s energy usage. This lowers the facility’s demand charges.

  • Pattern Learning: The EMS utilizes an AI-driven algorithm that learns a facility’s specific consumption patterns and, where applicable, solar production cycles.
