Viridi Powers Spirit & Soul Festival with Clean Energy Innovation

Richmond, CA – Viridi, the industry leader in fail-safe battery energy storage systems (BESS), today announced its role in powering the Spirit & Soul Festival–Richmond’s rooted celebration of art, music, and culture–as the event takes a bold step into the clean energy future. This year, Viridi’s RPS150 mobile battery energy storage systems will keep the festival running on safe, reliable, zero-emission power, proving that large-scale community gatherings can thrive without noisy, polluting diesel generators.

For the 2025 festival, several of Viridi’s RPS150 units will deliver approximately 75 kW’s of clean power for six hours, keeping the music, food, and community celebrations running seamlessly. Two of the units will be configured as a microgrid, showcasing how mobile storage can provide resilient, flexible power for events, public safety, and local businesses.

The Spirit & Soul Festival, held in Downtown Richmond on Macdonald Avenue between Harbour Way and 16th Street, brings together thousands of residents for live performances, food, artisan vendors, a classic car show, youth activities, and a health and resources hub—all now powered by zero-emission energy.

The event includes a vibrant mix of music and dance performances–including headline acts and local youth talent–alongside Richmond’s beloved Classic Car Show, artisan and craft vendors, family activities, and a diverse array of local food. New for 2025, the Health & Resource Hub will anchor the festival, connecting residents to medical, mental health, nutrition, housing, and energy resources–all rooted in Richmond’s “mind, body, spirit & soul” theme.
