Fail-Safe Energy Storage

Viridi’s RPSLink is a modular Battery Energy Storage System designed for flexible deployment both indoor and outdoors. The system is engineered with passive Fail-Safe Anti-Propagation technology, which significantly reduces the risks associated with lithium-ion batteries. RPSLinkEX enables facilities to reduce electricity costs by peak-shaving, by banking excess solar generation to be used when solar is not producing (zero-export), and maximizing renewable energy utilization, and is also capable of maintaining power during grid outages—all while meeting industry-leading stringent safety standards.

Challenge

The Denver Public Library sought a sustainable and safe energy solution to support its commitment to environmental stewardship and operational resilience. Traditional lithium-ion systems posed fire safety concerns, especially in public and occupied spaces. Viridi’s built-in Anti-Propagation technology—standard in the RPSLinkEX and all our products—helped the project meet local building code requirements while safeguarding staff, visitors, and critical infrastructure. Viridi’s advanced Energy Management System allows the battery to operate as an intelligent Behind-The-Meter asset, maximizing the facility’s self consumption of rooftop solar and shaving peaks to reduce energy costs.
